Nanuet Community Ambulance Provides Medical Coverage for Clarkstown Fireworks

On Wednesday, July 3rd, the Town of Clarkstown held their annual fireworks display in Nanuet. The event took place on the Nanuet Public Schools property. Within the event, there were bouncy castles for children, a model airplane show, a concert, and finally the finale of over 2,300 fireworks.
Nanuet staged all four of their ambulances with full crews throughout the schools property to assist if anyone needed medical treatment. Ambulances were also strategically placed for response to 911 calls within Nanuet's area. Additional crews were "walking crews" and were spread throughout the crowd and fireworks launch site with the Nanuet Fire Department. Each walking crew was also outfitted with full sets of gear. A command center was established along with the Clarkstown Police Department and Rockland Paramedics to cooridinate EMS response, and to reposition crews if transport to a hospital was necessary.
Nanuet had all of their crews in place by 5:00 pm, after a brief meeting. All crews were released from the school about 10:00 pm. Fortunately, no one required transport to the hospital, and everyone enjoyed the event.
Thank you to all of our members who participated in the event, and outside agencies for your assistance.
